Our first Mission olive trees were planted in the early 1950’s and over the years we’ve added trees whenever new vineyards were planted.
Today we have approximately 7 hectares of olive orchards in addition to the original Mission trees. Mostly Italian cultivars have been planted in the ratio in which the oil will be blended. Frantoio (50%) typically Tuscan, fruity and herbaceous, Leccino (30%) mild, sweet with subtle herbaceous flavours and Coratina (20%) green and somewhat bitter.
We harvest our olives by hand at optimum ripeness and while most of our olives are sold to commercial companies, a small quantity is cold-pressed and bottled. Our Extra Virgin Olive Oil of exceptional quality is completely natural containing no preservatives.
